She is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Government and Psychology, with minors in Inequality Studies and Theatre, from Cornell University.

She graduated with her Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the University of California, San Diego.

She is known for playing characters that try their absolute best until they physically cannot, or will not, anymore — women pushed to an edge who might decide to push back. Strivers, new girls, and comeback-kids.

She is interested in making art that is ugly.‍ ‍
